...Is anyone excited to meet Benjamin Tallmadge...?

Well of course! It's so nice to have a "tall, dark and handsome" member of the Dreamer crew!
And now I have a weird idea that Ben Cato=Ben Tallmadge....

I'm right with you on that! And OF COURSE!!!!! It's so nice to meet one of Nathan's old school buds!

Not just any school bud, this is THE school bud. THE BFF, THE partner in crime, THE soul mate...

Nathan & Benjamin's surviving letter's to each other are so wonderful. They impacted each other's decisions to enlist in the army, they tease each other about girls, they correct each other's grammar and spur one another onto greatness...

You can just tell they had a special kind of friendship. There is a playfulness and an openness in those letters you don't see in any of Nathan's other correspondences.

p.s. I guess both Ben's are tall dark and handsome...! but in very different ways, lol! When it comes to a date for the dance, Cato is more my style. XD

In that book that I mentioned on The Dreamer blog: A Documentary Life of Nathan Hale.

I asked Rachel Smith if she'd want to co-write "The Yale Days of Damon & Pythias" with me.... she has a lot of research about Yale during that era, and she was all about it!

ha ha, who knows when either one of us will have time, but if we do, it'll be so much fun.

Sooo...like I mentioned in the comments of friday's page, was nathan supposed to meet up with Ben on Long Island, but couldn't and somehow that led to his capture? I seem to remember reading something along that line somewhere, but then again it could just be the storyline I was using for my own Revolutionary War story (which I started doing long before finding The Dreamer). Hate it when I can't remember where I found info. I really need to start annotating my fiction...

I've never heard that. Tallmadge was an officer in the army at the time... which was stationed in Northern Manhattan.

Well it wouldn't be a book--it would be a Dreamer comic, much like the one that Alan Evans just did!

In that case I could do storyboarding...that's about all I'm good for. lol
