This is a rather odd thing for me to be making a post about, but I've always been curiousabsolutelybeyondbugged about Bea's voice type. Several online friends and I had made it an occasional activity to read comics aloud via Skype calls [it's a really fun activity to do when you're bored Razz]

From what I gathered about the character, Bea, she is:
-A female teenager
-She is able to sing "Think of Me" [which in my belief is a crazy Soprano song XD]
-She lives in Boston/New England area [?]

And semi-biased viewing says she doesn't really seem the tomboy type Razz

So, what is Bea's voice type? Does she have any notable accent/dialect? Suspect

I've actually wondered the same thing. Personally, I try to imagine her with a very slight Boston accent, but it always ends up sounding Midwestern (i.e. "Standard American") in my head since that's my accent. I imagine all of the 1776 as having accents somewhere between modern American and RP British for some reason, except for Knowlton, who has a fully American accent, and Bea, who has the same accent in both centuries. I'm not sure how any of them are supposed to sound, though, and I didn't really put that much thought into their "voices".

Also, for whatever it's worth, I'm a mezzo-soprano and I sang "Think of Me" for a recital, high notes and all. I do agree that Bea is probably a soprano, though.

lol I'll try reading the comic out loud to myself sometime soon and tell you what voices and accents develop. If I can master them well enough I'll put up a funny dub of the first issue or something on youtube. lol

Caera, will you please, please, PLEASE do this! LOL!

Personally, I think The Dreamer is more fun when you read General Howe with Jeremy Irons's voice.

I tend to "hear" Bea as Kalie(sp?) from Quest for Camelot, just sans the accent.

I've been thinking that as well, and also for the other characters as well. Particularly Alex's accent - we know he's from the West Indies, but what kind of accent would he have? I don't think he's the kind of guy to have a Jamaican accent.

At the thought of Alexander Hamilton with a Jamaican accent: *laughing my guts out* lol!

Oh, no, please no Jamaican accent for Hamilton. There would be several fatalities from laughter.

He has an RP British accent in my head. I don't know if that's right, but I don't really care, because it fits.
