Calling all Nathan-worshippers!

Just a thread to discuss our favorite American spy!

So I'm a huge Nathan fan, and I'm sure most of you are too. What's your favorite Nathan moment, and why?

I consider myself a high priestess of the altar of Nathan Hale. Every moment is a favorite moment with Nathan Hale.

I think I'd like to worship at that alter too!

I can't decide which moment of his I like the most:

The part where he first meets Bea and says 'boo' is so adorable and so playful.

Then there's the scene where he talks to Bea about providence and what every soldier needs to ask themselves and then makes a kind of off hand joke about dying was so intense and so intellectual and then he just lightened the mood so quickly and left her confused, I like that, it's so..complex.

The scene where he's fighting with Alan makes him so harcore, I went 'whoa!" Be still my heart.

And of course, the bed and tent scene, it's just pure cheesecake for the fangirls

And the smile he has when Bea tells him not to feel guilty for bringing her out to the battle field in, I think, issue 7? 8? I don't know.

Sorry that's a lot of favorite moments!

I'm not really sure I have one specific favorite moment, but I do love Nathan's first scene when he's talking about sacrificing everything for something he loves...oh, the foreshadowing! And yet he's so casually noble about it. =)

Every moment with Nathan is the best moment. :3

Nathan Hale was a cousin of Hannah Hale, who married General Justus Burdick, the man who helped found Kalamazoo, MI.

This Burdick is in my ancestry line. I do not know what this makes me in relation to Nathan Hale,but it sure was interesting to find out!

I WISH! I doubt it though. May I ask how you found out about your own possible relation to Nathan Hale, like in a registry somewhere or just through your own geneology research?

Yes you may. Umm. I found it through genealogy research. I went to the Burdick family tree website where they dicuss the Burdick family and who they are related to.It is a pretty interesting tidbit.

Ok...Wish me luck. I'm writing an eassy on Nathan to teach to some younger kids in my home school co-op on Friday. Let's see if I can keep the obsessing reasonible...yeah, right?

Speaking of essays, I have to write a collage story and I get to pick any topic I want. Guess what my topic is? lol

But I can't write the collage without pieces of the collage, and for this I'm looking to enlist the help of my fellow Nathan-fans. Anyone feel like being "interviewed"? lol

Huzzah! Well, the story is going to be about Nathan's impact on people even today. I'm going to have people's personal stories in sections, followed by pieces about my Nathan Hale Hajj this summer, leading up to explaining just who the heck I am talking about. lol

So what I need, and I might start a new thread for this or just have people PM me, is:

Who you are (name, age, location)
How many years you've been a fan
Memories of how you discovered Nathan, as detailed as possible (ex. I was five years old, stretched out on the living room floor practicing my letters in a green alphabet book when I heard my mum and brother reading about him in the history book...)
What his significance/impact in your life is and why you love him

I chose Nathan not just because I like any excuse to write about him, but because I've noticed that while many historical figures have a following, Nathan's seem to be unique, going back even to Seymour.

I can assure you this story is strictly for a class and no personal information will be used outside of the paper. It won't leave the classroom unless there's a demand, and I have y'all's permission of course.

I'm in, any chance to talk about Nathan is quickly grabbed
